Oppo is reportedly dismantling OnePlus as a standalone entity following poor financial performance. Despite previous investment pledges, OnePlus shipments fell over 20% in 2024, with market share in key regions like India collapsing significantly.
As a result, the company has shuttered its US headquarters and reduced Western teams to skeleton crews. Future projects, including the OnePlus Open 2 and 15s, are cancelled. While Oppo will honor existing warranties, the brand has effectively lost its independence and is now fully controlled by headquarters in China.
