A major security breach at Chinese manufacturer Luxshare has compromised significant amounts of confidential data belonging to Apple. Hackers have made off with over 1TB of sensitive internal files.
The stolen data reportedly covers projects from 2019 through 2025 and includes 3D CAD models, detailed schematics, and engineering documents for unreleased Apple products. Experts warn that this level of detail could lead to high-accuracy counterfeits and reveals future design directions prematurely. Data related to other clients like Nvidia and Tesla may also be affected.
The ransomware group responsible, RansomHub, claimed that Luxshare refused negotiation attempts regarding a buyout. Consequently, the group has started leaking samples of the stolen documentation online to prove they have the files.
