Sony launches LinkBuds Clip Open

Sony has officially introduced the LinkBuds Clip Open, marking the company’s first entry into the open-ear clip-style headphone market. Unlike traditional earbuds, these attach to the ear shell, keeping the ear canal open for improved comfort and situational awareness.

Key Features

  • Audio Control. Supports a 10-band EQ via the Sony Sound Connect app. It includes three distinct modes: Standard for music, Podcast for noisy environments, and a “Leak Suppression” mode to minimize sound bleeding to those around you.
  • Call Quality. Despite the open design placing microphones further from the mouth, Sony utilizes AI noise reduction to ensure clear voice transmission.
  • Battery & Durability. The earbuds offer 9 hours of playback, with the case providing an additional 28 hours. The device is rated IPX4 for water and dust resistance.

Priced at $230, the LinkBuds Clip Open is positioned as a mid-high range option—more affordable than the Bose Ultra Open and Huawei FreeClip 2, but more expensive than alternatives from Soundcore and Shokz. They are available in Black, Grey, Green, and Pink.
