Casio has showcased the SX-C1 at NAMM 2026, a portable sampler prototype that blends retro gaming aesthetics with music production hardware. The design sits somewhere between a Roland SP-404 and a Game Boy, featuring a directional D-pad and gaming-style buttons surrounding a 1.3-inch OLED display.
The final version is expected to offer 16-voice polyphony and will record samples in 16-bit/48kHz WAV format. It comes with 64GB of internal storage and includes a library of pre-installed Casio samples.
Designed for mobile creation, the SX-C1 operates on AAA batteries and includes a built-in microphone and speaker. Connectivity includes:
- Two USB-C ports (Power, Data, and Audio)
- Line inputs and outputs
- Headphone jack
Casio has not yet confirmed the release date or pricing for the SX-C1.
