Spotify has officially introduced group chats, allowing up to 10 users to message each other simultaneously. The feature is designed to streamline sharing and discussing music, podcasts, and audiobooks without requiring users to switch to third-party messaging platforms.
To ensure user privacy and prevent spam, the feature comes with a restriction: users can only be added to a group if there is a history of prior interaction. This includes connections made through shared playlists, Jam sessions, or the Blend feature.
This update follows the launch of direct messaging in August 2025, marking another step in Spotify’s strategy to expand its social ecosystem.
