Bloomberg reports that Tim Cook has placed hardware chief John Ternus in charge of Apple’s design teams. This adds to his 2025 expansion into product strategy. By consolidating oversight of hardware, strategy, and design, Cook appears to be grooming Ternus as his direct successor.

Swedish company Instabridge has acquired Nova Launcher. While the new owners claim they are only “considering” monetization, users are already reporting ads and new tracking scripts (Google and Facebook) in the free version. Founder Kevin Barry told The Verge he has not been contacted by the new owners.
Italian design brand Seletti has launched a lighting fixture modeled after the iconic Bic Cristal pen. Created at a 12:1 scale to mark the pen’s 75th anniversary, the 1.8-meter lamp features a 2400-lumen LED tube. It will retail for $350 later this year.
